Reading: Luke 1:67-80
Zechariah’s heart and mouth burst forth in a prophetic song of praise to the Lord!
God keeps his promises! The word he has received (a son) has been fulfilled. And in that son born to him God is beginning to fulfill his greatest promise, the Promised Savior.
A Savior who redeems a people for himself…
A Savior who pours out mercy upon us….
A Savior who is the fulfillment of God’s covenant with Abraham, with Israel…
A Savior who comes to justify and sanctify us…
A Savior who comes to remove our darkness with his light…
A Savior who comes to rescue us from death…
A Savior who brings us peace and reconciliation….
And of this Savior John will be a prophet. And that is why Zechariah praises and blesses the name of the Lord.
And by this great Savior we also praise the Father!!!!
MEDITATE: Is there always in us a praise to God for Jesus, Our Wonderful Savior?
