[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Smiling School Kids will soon finish another school year and is now planning for the 2022 school year. SSK is the oldest consistent ministry of 516NOW. It is continuing to bless the lives of children and their families—first in Palacaguina and then in Diriamba, Nicaragua.

We are hopeful that more children will find sponsors for the coming school year. Some of our children will be completing high school this year and will not continue on, but others of our children will continue to higher education if the necessary arrangements can be made. If you are supporting one of those students who wish to go on with their studies and would like to help them, then please let us know.

Smiling School Kids focuses on providing support to children with school uniforms, shoes, school supplies, backpacks, and books. This ministry is a family ministry as well as a ministry to children. These children do not always have two parents in the home and some families include grandparents as well as one or more parents. The whole family benefits from having a sponsored child for SSK.

This year we have special BIG NEWS. SSK is going to begin a new program in El Salvador and Pastor Oswaldo Asturias will sponsor and coordinate that program through the Life to Grow Church in San Salvador. Oswaldo reports that there are many issues with poverty, gangs, health, drug problem, and prostitution. SSK El Salvador will provide educational support for 30 children this first year and we are thankful for a special donation that will provide support for these children in order that the whole first cohort of 30 children will begin classes in January 2022. Pastor Oswaldo and his wife Ester will also seek to provide training in values in the word of God and in arts (Music). Their SSK program will have some unique features due to differences in their community and in El Salvador.
